On Being a Superwoman . . .

Superwoman is a lonely bitch. You can’t complain about what someone doesn’t do for you if you don’t trust them enough to let them do it. Stevie Wonder wrote some of the most poignant lyrics ever. I often marvel at that prolific stretch of records he did from Music of my Mind through Hotter Than July. What a mothafucka! Stevie was a bright light in a very dark period in our society. The irony should not be lost that he was physically blind, but saw more than most.

Lyrics have a different vibration when the person who writes them wrote and plays the music, as well.

Peep that cover! Pure artistry. Those glasses? That shit is dope!

What about those tune medleys Stevie did like this one or Ordinary Pain? Duality at its finest.

The day you let the painful experiences of your life contaminate your ability to love others freely is the day you begin to become less human.

And if you don’t dig Stevie Wonder, fuck you! #TGIFYF

Love, Trust, and Respect

I believe trust, like respect and love, should be a given. We should give it freely and openly to everyone until they’re proven not trustworthy. Matter of fact, I don’t believe that; I know it. If you don’t love, trust, or respect with an open heart, it’s not love, trust, or respect.

To be clear, I never said give someone all of yourself from the start, I just said love with an open heart. In fact, you should never give anyone all of yourself, I don’t care who it is. If you give someone all of you, there’s no longer anything left of you to give.

Love never looks to protect itself. True love is its own protection. As long as you’re looking for love, you’ll never find it. The only way to have love is to be love. Sound and feel.

Feelings. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa . . .

All feelings are not to be expressed. It’s OK to feel without having to put it out there, especially if they add no value to anything or anyone.

Don’t Believe In The Light, Be The Light

The biggest lie ever told is that we are separate from The Creator and need an intermediary to be The Light. We are all lights. That said, some tend to shine more brightly than others. The only thing that stands between you and The Creator is you. Step aside and be in The Light.

Preachers abuse it and teachers use it. It’s the way the establishment keeps its power. They tell you that The Creator dwells outside of you so you look everywhere except within.
